Young aural historian, Pepper, interviews Janet, a local Thankerton resident.
Media Education is currently providing audio and film training to the Thankerton Memories Project. Young people from the village have been interviewing older residents about growing up in the village and how things have changed.
Subjects have included farming life, leisure and social events, the war, the evacuees and POW camp, as well as times at Covington Primary School.
The audio recording is now finishing and the young people now have the task of turning the stories into a film for local schools and community screenings. All recordings will be available on our SoundCloud page soon.
