The Thankerton Memories project was created in collaboration with Thankerton Improvement Group and was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Thankerton Memories project was an intergenerational film and audio project, supported by Media Education, where young people from Thankerton interviewed older people in their local community about their experiences growing up in the area. They created a CD of the interviews to create a record of the history of the community.

Following the interview phase, the young people worked with us to create a reenactment film of the various memories captured in the recordings. This film was screened in the local town hall for the whole community and later distributed on DVD.
